Our Policies
We believe clear communication creates the best grooming experience
for both pets and their owners.
To ensure a safe, calm, and respectful grooming experience for every pet,
please review the following policies before scheduling your appointment.
Vaccination Requirements
For the health and safety of all pets in our care, proof of current vaccinations is required before your grooming appointment.
All dogs must be up to date on the following vaccines:
• Rabies
• DHPP (Distemper / Parvo)
• Bordetella

Appointments cannot proceed if vaccination records are missing, expired, or not provided in advance.

These requirements help protect:
• your dog
• other dogs in our care
• our grooming environment

We appreciate your cooperation in helping keep our salon safe and healthy for every pet.
Flea Prevention Policy
To maintain a clean and comfortable grooming environment, dogs must arrive flea-free.

Year-round flea prevention is highly recommended for all dogs receiving grooming services.

If fleas are discovered during grooming:
• A $50 flea handling fee will be applied
• Grooming services may be adjusted or stopped if necessary

This policy helps prevent the spread of fleas and protects the health and comfort of every dog in our care.
Cancellation Policy
Because Mya’s Pet Salon is a small, owner-operated business, each appointment is reserved specifically for your dog. Last-minute cancellations and no-shows are difficult to fill and directly impact our ability to serve other local clients.

No-Show Policy
A no-show includes:
• Missing your scheduled appointment
• Canceling the day of your appointment
• Canceling the night before

Cancellation Notice
For one dog:
• Less than 24 hours notice – 100% of the grooming fee
• 24–48 hours notice – 50% of the grooming fee

For multiple dogs:
• Less than 48 hours notice — 100% fee
• 48–72 hours notice — 50% fee

Business hours are Monday–Friday.
The salon is closed Saturday and Sunday.

Repeated last-minute cancellations may require prepayment for future appointments.
Matting Explanation
Matting can be uncomfortable and sometimes painful for dogs. When a coat becomes severely matted, brushing may not be possible without causing distress.

In these cases, the safest and most humane option may be to clip the coat shorter than expected to remove the matting.

Severely matted coats can lead to:
• skin irritation
• trapped moisture
• infection risk
• discomfort for your pet

Our priority is always the health, safety, and comfort of your dog. If matting is present, we will discuss the safest grooming approach with you before proceeding whenever possible.
